Staind's vocalist Aaron Lewis and guitarist Mike Mushok met at a Christmas party in New England in 1993. Mushok involved drummer Jon Wysocki, and Lewis' brought in a bass player (who later left he band). Staind sold over 2,000 copies of their self-released debut album in little more than a year. After becoming in contact with Limp Bizkit singer Fred Durst, Durst arranged a meeting for Staind with the label Flip Records in Los Angeles. A three-song sampler was recorded in Los Angeles and by February 1998 the band had a record deal. Their second album release “Break The Cycle” had a number one U.S. spot in the chart in 2001. Staind has a 7 album strong discography, with the latest titled “Staind” which was released in September of 2011.
