UB40 are a British reggae band formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England. They have sold over 70 million records in total and have managed to place more than 50 singles in the UK singles chart. They have had several number one hits, including "Can't Help Falling in Love", and "Red Red Wine", and managed considerable international success. Their big break was when Chrissie Hynde spotted them in a pub and they were invited to support her band, The Pretenders, on tour. Their first album, "Signing Off", was released soon after in the UK, and reached number 2 in the charts, eventually staying on the charts for 71 weeks. International success was only achieved with their second album, "Labour of Love". This was a covers album, featuring possibly their best-known song "Red Red Wine". UB40 are still touring and releasing albums, although Ali Campbell and Michael Virtue have both left the group.
