Nils Lofgren is an American singer-songwriter. He is best known for his work as a solo artist, but is also famous for his time playing with both Neil Young and Crazy Horse, and Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band. Nils Lofgren joined Neil Young's band at the age of 18, playing piano and guitar on "After the Gold Rush", and used this experience to get his band Grin a record deal soon after. Releasing 4 albums with Grin before they disbanded, he recorded his first solo album in 1975. This was released to huge critical acclaim, and he has continued to release records and tour as a solo artist ever since. In 1984 he joined Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, and has been a member ever since, for over 25 years.
