Eric Clapton is an English blues-rock guitarist, singer, songwriter, and composer. One of the most famous guitarists of all times, Clapton has played in some of the most iconic rock bands of the 60s and 70s starting with The Yarbirds in 1963, John Mayall and The Bluesbreakers, Cream with classic album Disraeli Gears including hits including 'Sunshine of Your Love' and 'Crossroads' and Derek and the Dominos with the huge hit 'Layla'. In the mid 1970s Clapton went solo with '461 Ocean Boulevard' including the number 1 single 'I shot the Sheriff'. Subsequent hits include 'Cocaine', 'Wonderful Tonight' and 'Lay Down Sally'. His personal life has been marked by family tragedy, controversy and battles with addiction but he has continued to record and perform earning his place as one of the greatest guitarists of our time.
