Paul McCartney is the most succesful musician in the history of pop music. First achieving fame in The Beatles, he has gone on to write more hits than any other songwriter in the world. He has 60 gold discs, and sales of over 100 million singles in the UK alone. After leaving the Beatles, Paul formed the band Wings, with his first wife Linda, and singer-songwriter Denny Laine. Achieving yet more global success with Wings, he has since gone on to be involved in many more projects, including The Fireman, film scores, classical and electronic composition, ballet, and film.
