Twisted Sister is a glam metal band formed in 1972 in New Jersey. However it wasn’t until 1982 when they decided to go to the U.K. to find a record-label. So it was ten years before they released their first studio album. International success came two years later after their third album Stay Hungry was released. It was their music videos for songs such as ‘we’re not gonna take it’ and I Wanna Rock’, which had been constantly played on MTV, that propelled them into the public eye. At the end of the eighties the band were stripped from their record-label as lead singer Dee Snider had left the band. In 1997 however, they reformed and they have played ever-since.
